Day 67, another step closer to Spring and another day of Thanks and Gratitude. Ameen. Amen. Ashkran. Hallelujah. Whatever it is you use to give thanks, just give thanks.
As I dig deeper and deeper with each blog entry, it gets more interesting, some days more than others, but nevertheless, its day 67. What are YOU doing consecutively outside of breathing, which is involuntary? Are you doing anything worthwhile and at your own will? Why not?
So, today’s Grammy related find is, The Remix (Non-Classical) Category. Apparently, they’ve been awarding Producers with a Remix Gramophone to my surprise, which is pretty interesting, once again considering the number of awards that are issued that we’ll never read or hear about. Well, from what I found, the first Remix award was issued in 1998. It ran for about 4 years and then disappeared and the next time that it surfaced I’m unclear on, but this entry is related to the 51st Grammy Awards of 07-08.
A very dope group by the name of Justice, that has certainly earned worldwide acclaim, were awarded Remix of the Year for the MGMT tune “Electric Feel.” The original is below:
The JUSTICE Remix is below:
Here is another Remix Grammy Nominee, Moto Blanco, WOW! Didn’t win, but its definitely the “sweaty bodies rubbing in the club” vibe.
In closing, I was shocked to learn that Steve “Silk” Hurley of the Tom Joyner Morning Show feature has been nominated 4 times. HUH?..Well, some of his stuff is really on point, but its hit or miss honestly.
