Sometimes I have to NOT be so Billy D’d!! Recently as DADDY, I helped chaperoned maybe 15 or so kids ranging 4-6 years of age from my sons school. We walked what felt like a marathon due to the short, stubby legs of the children and their wondering eyes and stimulated minds, dragging out what was only about 2 miles. It was a gorgeous day for a walk and WOW did we EVER HAVE FUN!! I love kids.
One of the things I remember most was when out of the blue, one of the students who had been pretty quite along the walk just shouted out, “Mr. Emeka’s Dad…do you know how to spell Captain?”…I spelled it for her and she went about her silence again.
It was a GREAT surprise for the kids to run into Mayor Brown. Our timing was lucky to run into our Mayor and he took the time to speak with the kids and answer their random and funny questions.
