Excuse the pictures, as they are a little smaller than usual, but nevertheless a snap shot of the moment. I had the pleasure of being the “first” hip hop act to perform at the new $3 million Burchfield-Penny Art Center building on Saturday, Nov.22.
From what I gather, hip hop wasn’t the entertainment of choice in the initial grand opening planning, but I’m grateful that I was given the opportunity to show and prove that my brand of music can be fun, positive and entertaining. Thanks Don!
The crowd was massive and more diverse than people would imagine a hip hop performance to be: Babies in strollers, foreign students, high school students in Nike Air sneakers, mid-age women in fur coats, skateboarders, parents, singles, etc…………….All having a good time in the name of love, peace and hip hop.
DJ’s LoPo and Cutler. Plus by nephew, B-Boy X who tore the roof of the joint with his poppin and lockin moves.
