ALL SOULED OUT

While I was in Massachusetts at Play On Brother Studios this past July, I met this really cool cat named Ryan. He stopped by the studio one evening as Alan and I were recording some tracks, and Ry decided to hang around, ya know the regular musicians thing, just hanging, vibing and kickin’ it.
So, we’re kind of scrolling and skipping through some of the cuts just to get Ryan’s opinion and catch him up to speed, when this one song comes on, called “FLY AWAY” featuring Katie Scirto, Sufana Wajed and Richie English. The minute that the tune dropped, Ry started plucking some sweet arrangements and riffs on his guitar.

The next thing you know, “one take” later…Ryan sets the tone and puts the cream cheese frosting on the red velvet cake, right on the spot and killed the track. On the first take, FLY AWAY was taken to another level, thanks to my mane!!

Oh..I almost forgot. The GIT-TAR picture above is THE guitar I tagged for him after the session. It says “SOUL.”

WHAT IN THE HAIL IS GOING ON?!?

WOW!! A hail storm in Kenya!?? A HAIL STORM in KENYA!?
I’m from Buffalo, NY where we expect hail, snow, blizzards and the likes, but if Kenya can get a hail storm in September, or any month of the year for that matter, which is totally bizarre, then as a Buffalo resident, I plan on wearing shorts all winter long in 08. I’m expecting 80 degree readings in Buffalo this winter if Kenya is getting hail.

Oh, and while things are going haywire, I may as well throw this in: “The Bills will win the Super Bowl in 2009.”
LOL!!

PLAYONBROTHER

Good Morning Yall!
I’m writing this at 5:50am, and I have a crazy headache since I actually never even made it to my bed last night. Sometimes my work carries me into these deep zones where time speeds by, my music plays until it cycles and repeats itself and MTV finds the most stupid reality shows to distract me with.
Anyways, I’m charged up right now since I finished my first custom skateboard deck just minutes before I posted this. I’ll post pictures of the skateboard deck in the next few days.

But while I’m on the subject of custom, above is the guitar pick guard I customized for musician/drummer Alan Evans of Soulive and Play on Brother.

Until it’s actually on the guitar, I can imagine it looks a little odd. So see below.
